Company History

Natis Communication Corporation was founded in 2002 in Silicon Valley by a small group of entrepreneurs who were focused on developing a secure and encrypted communication link to mission critical remote equipment hung out on the edge of wide operating networks. Recognizing the growing economies of scale and the increasing reliability of the Internet Protocol based technologies, along with the increased security requirements arising out of 9-11, the founders were intent on finding a way to bring reliable, secure, encrypted remote communication technologies to the operators of these wide operating networks that would address the geographic, line of sight, scalability and interoperability issues of the competing technologies and legacy systems.

In traditional Silicon Valley fashion, Natis opened up for business in the founder's garage and set about to develop the communication system that they envisioned. Initially funded by the founders, family and friends, Natis used these funds to complete development of a complete robust, reliable communications platform. Today, the development continues both to improve the existing products and applications as well as to bring additional products and applications to new markets so that we may better serve our customer's needs.

Natis decided to initially focus on the electric utility industry where the legacy system issues, disparate networks and kludged operating systems along with the market pressures to begin to automate their processes made for a large and ready market. As a part of this focus, Natis developed a commercial relationship with a large Northern California investor owned utility, with Silicon Valley in its service area during 2003. Working closely together, every element of the Natis Secure Distribution Automation platform has been field tested and deployed. From that jumping off point, Natis has begun to establish relationships with additional customers in and suppliers to the utility industry and has begun to reach out into new markets.

However, we never forget our roots and occasionally we have management meetings in the founder's kitchen to remind us of how far we have come and where we are going.
